For a 12 inch Double Nine Patch you need: Four 4 1/2 inch squares of your background Strips 1 7/8 inches wide of blue green Strips 1 7/8 inch wide of red orange |
Sew a set of strips in this order, green, orange, green.
And then cut them into 1 7/8 inch segments like this, you need ten.
Repeat the same steps with orange, green, orange strips. You need five 1 7/8 segments.
Next assemble a little nine patch as shown here. Your little nine patch should measure 4 1/2 inches.
You may need to trim your blocks a little.
You need five little nine patch blocks. Finally, we get to assemble the whole Double Nine Patch block.
