We are going to make diagonal half squares from four of the hot pink and four purple squares. First, mark the lighter squares diagonally through the center. (This will be a cutting line when you are finished.) Place two different color squares right sides together. Sew on either side of the drawn line, exactly 1/4 inch from the first line. Cut this square in half on the cutting line. Press to the darker color. You will now have two diagonal half squares. Next you need to sew these together into pairs, but be careful, two to go in one direction and two to go the opposite direction.
Use the remaining two pairs of diagonal half squares and sew pink and purple triangles on each side. Follow the diagrams carefully to make sure they are going in the right direction and that you use the triangles in the right place.
