four 3 1/2 inch squares
From your gold cut two 3 7/8 inch squares
From a medium green cut one 3 7/8 inch squares

(You may choose your own colors of course.)

You will be making mostly diagonal squares for this block. (Directions can be found here. ) First, mark your background squares diagonally through the center. (This will be a cutting line when you are finished.) Place your medium square, right sides together, with the background. Sew on either side of the drawn line, exactly 1/4 inch from the first line. Cut this square in half on the cutting line. You will now have two diagonal half-squares, which should measure exactly 3 1/2 inches.

Repeat with the remaining 3 7/8 inch squares. You will need:

Four yellow background and gold diagonal half squares

Two green background and medium green diagonal half squares

Four dark green and green background diagonal half squares
To finish make two sets like this
and two sets like this
Now assemble as shown. Your finished block should measure 12 1/2 inches.
