Delaware Quilts

Snail's Trail or Monkey Wrench

This block is not really that hard, you just have to be careful with your seam allowances. I recommend you make a sample block first.

You only need two colors for this block, I'm going to use blue and white.
You will need to make the following cuts:
Two blue and two white 2 5/8 inch squares
One blue and one white 3 7/8 inch square, cut in half diagonally
One blue and one white 5 1/4 inch square, cut in half diagonally
One blue and one white 6 7/8 inch square, cut in half diagonally

We'll start off easy, make a four patch with the two blue and two white 2 5/8 inch squares.

Now add a blue half square on either side, finish with the white half squares.
I suggest that you press towards the outside.

Keep going, adding blue half squares first, then the white.
Press to the outside again.

One more round, same thing, blue first, and finish with the white.
Your block is done, and should measure 12 1/2 inches.
