Water Wheel

For the Water Wheel you will need:
From your blue cut a strip 2 1/2 by 20 inches
From your green cut two 4 7/8 inch squares and one 4 1/2 inch square
From your floral cut a strip 2 1/2 by 20 inches and two 4 7/8 inch square

Your finished block should measure 12 1/2 inches. Measure carefully, cut carefully and sew carefully, and you won't have any problems.

We'll start off with the four patch corners. Place your blue strip right sides together with your floral, and sew them together with a 1/4 inch seam allowance. Open and press to the blue. Now cut your strip into eight 2 1/2 inch segments, and then sew them back together into four patches which should measure 4 1/2 inches.

Take your 4 7/8 inch green and floral squares, and place them right sides together. Mark a line diagonally through the center of the white block, your cutting line. Sew 1/4 inch on either side of your line, and then cut on the cutting line. This gives you two 4 1/2 inch diagonal half squares. Repeat with the remaining 4 7/8 inch squares.

Following this diagram assemble your Water Wheel.

Your finished block should measure 12 1/2 inches.
