Delaware Quilts

World's Fair

For a 12 1/2 inch (12 inch finished in a quilt) World's Fair block you will need:
From your green cut a strip 2 by at least 32 inches
From your print, mine is yellow, cut a strip 2 by at least 32 inches
From your print (yellow) cut a strip 3 1/2 by 28 inches and then cut that into eight 3 1/2 inch blocks

We'll start off with the four patches. Place your 2 inch strips right sides together and sew them together with a 1/4 inch seam allowance. Open and press to the green.

Now cut your strip into sixteen 2 inch segments,

and then sew them back together into eight 4-patches which should measure 3 1/2 inches.

Sew a 3 1/2 square to each 4-patch.

And then sew those together into pairs.

Make four rows.

Finally sew them together into a 12 1/2 inch block.
