Our Thirteenth Year of Retreating!
2009 Mystery Retreat
Thursday October 15 through check out Sunday October 18
Bird-in-Hand Family Inn
2727 Old Philadelphia Pike, Bird-in-Hand, PA 17505
Well it's a mystery for now anyway. I have no idea what I will be teaching at this retreat, but I promise you it will be a fun project. If you have a request, send me an email!
For those ladies who asked for more fun, we have added an OPTIONAL day of retreating, Wednesday October 14th. You may check in after 3PM. The conference room will be ready and waiting for you, or you may start your shopping a day earlier.
The retreat will officially begin at check in on Thursday any time after 3.00. Check in at the front desk for your keys, brunch ticket and site map.
For the newbies, sign up for the Amish Farm tour provided by the hotel when you check in. (I recommend early Saturday morning for your tour.)
After you've unloaded your car, bring your sewing supplies to the conference room. We can start working on our projects until 4:30, when we will
close the conference room for dinner.
We will reopen at 7:00 and resume sewing. We'll finish about 9:00 so you can take a relaxing dip in the hot tub if you'd like, or just stay in the conference room and keep on working.
Friday will be shopping day for those who need to add to their stash. The conference room will open at 7:00 for coffee but I recommend you start off the day with a good breakfast. I suggest the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn Restaurant. (Call ahead for seating, extension 1550.)
We will meet in the conference room to car pool (if desired) to several great quilt shops. I will hand out shopping directions and any coupons we have to aid you in your adventure. The conference room will be closed until 1:00 when it will reopen for those who have shopped out. When ever you are finished your shopping you can come back and continue your project.
The conference room will close at 5:00 for dinner and reopen no later than 7:00 so we can continue working on those cabins. The conference room will remain open until 11:00 (or later if you want to sew!)
The conference room will reopen at 7:00 on Saturday for those who wish to continue sewing. Remember that most stores are closed on Sunday so be sure to visit all the wonderful shops Saturday. I recommend you take the Amish Farm tour if you are new to this area. And don't miss the Farmer's Market next door. Take advantage of all there is around here, go out and explore.
Dinner time will be announced later. We will be dining at the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn Restaurant. We will be seated as a group, so it is important that everyone be on time. After dinner head back to the conference room. We will continue working on our projects and have some retreat fun while working.
Sunday AM get up bright and early for a delicious breakfast buffet at the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn Restaurant. Your breakfast ticket will be in your key envelope which you receive at check in. DO NOT lose it. Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 10:00. The conference room will open at 9:00 for you to collect your belongings, and will close at 10:30 for checkout. Check out is before 11, and you must check out at the front office.

A $100 non-refundable deposit per person is required when you make your reservation.
Please be sure you understand the cancellation policy (below) before you send your deposit.
To reserve a room in any retreat, you must send a $100 non-refundable deposit. This will reserve you a space in the conference room, and a room to sleep in. I will not match roommates, so if you do not have a friend to accompany you, you must pay for a private room. If one roommate cancels, the remaining roommate shall be required to pay for a private room, or provide their own paying roommate. For this reason, you should choose your roommate carefully.
Payment in full must be received by August 15, 2009. Payment must be received on time or the reservation will be cancelled and all deposits forfeited.
Cancellations must be in writing. Email is fine, but if you do not get an acknowledgement within three days you should email again and/or snail mail.
Cancellations made after August 15 are transferable to another person, but not refundable.
I have to pay my bills on time, and I would appreciate it if you would do the same. I set the retreat due dates so your payment arrives in time for me to pay my bill. There will be a $20 late charge for any late retreat payments.
Need more information, email Marge.
You may pay your deposit or make other payments securely with any major credit card through PayPal! |
