Our Fourteenth Year of Retreating!
Thursday September 30 check out Sunday October 3, 2010
Amish View Inn and Suites
3125 Old Philadelphia Pike (Rt 340) mid-way between Bird-in-Hand and Intercourse

NOTE: I had a few “groups” who were considering booking this retreat, but they have decided to go another route, so I will now open this retreat up to all retreaters. However, be warned, I will not run a retreat unless there are at least eight rooms booked. Why is very easy to explain, under eight rooms does not cover all of the expenses that goes with each retreat. At this time there are no rooms booked for this retreat. There are openings in the October retreat.

I’ve decided that it’s been a few years since we had a Scrappy Happy Quilt Retreat, so this will be the year. I have posted a selection of scrappy patterns that will help you use up your leftovers scraps or excess stash. If you are not a Scrappy person, not to worry, these projects will be new fabric friendly too, or you may choose a different pattern. You may link to those patterns here. (Use your browser's back button to return here.)

As a fun way to get acquainted we will be wearing name tags, so we know who everyone is. Everyone should wear a QUILTED and finished name tag that has on it your name and where you are from. It doesn’t have to be new, but we will be “judging” these and there will be a nice prize for the “Best of Show”

Show and tell will be every night, but you may only show a project one time please. We will take a few minutes every evening for you to show one or two of your favorite quilts.

The retreat will officially begin at check in on Thursday any time after 3.00. Check in at the front desk for your keys and site map. After you've unloaded your car, bring your sewing supplies to the conference room. We can start working on our projects until 4:30, when we will close the conference room for dinner.

We will reopen at 7:00 (or sooner) and resume sewing. We'll finish about 9:00 so you can take a relaxing dip in the hot tub if you'd like, or just stay in the conference room and keep on working.

Friday will be shopping day for those who need to add to their stash. I will hand out shopping directions and any coupons we have to aid you in your shopping adventure at several great area quilt shops. If you don't want to shop, the conference room will be open from 8 to 11 when it will close for lunch until 1:00 when it will reopen for those who have shopped out. When you are finished your shopping you can come back and continue your project.

The conference room will close at 4:30 for dinner and reopen no later than 7:00 so we can continue working on our projects. The conference room will remain open until 11:00 (or later if you want to sew!)

The conference room will reopen at 8:00 on Saturday for those who wish to continue sewing. Remember that most stores are closed on Sunday so be sure to visit all the wonderful shops Saturday. Take advantage of all there is around here, go out and explore.

The conference room will close at 4:30 for dinner and reopen no later than 7:00. After dinner head back to the conference room. We will continue working on our projects and have some retreat fun while working.

Sunday morning the conference room will open at 8:00 for you to collect your belongings, and will close at 10:30 for checkout. Check out is before 11, and you must check out at the front office.

Cost will be:
Doubles (two people sharing one room) $270 per person
Private room $525

Retreat package includes accommodations and class or classes.

A $100 non-refundable deposit per person is required when you make your reservation.

Please be sure you understand the cancellation policy (below) before you send your deposit.

To reserve a room in any retreat, you must send a $100 non-refundable deposit. This will reserve you a space in the conference room, and a room to sleep in. I will not match roommates, so if you do not have a friend to accompany you, you must pay for a private room. If one roommate cancels, the remaining roommate shall be required to pay for a private room, or provide their own paying roommate. For this reason, you should choose your roommate carefully.

Payment in full must be received by August 1, 2010. Payment must be received on time or the reservation will be cancelled and all deposits forfeited.
Cancellations must be in writing. Email is fine, but if you do not get an acknowledgement within three days you should email again and/or snail mail.
Cancellations made after August 1st are transferable to another person, but not refundable.

I have to pay my bills on time, and I would appreciate it if you would do the same. I set the retreat due dates so your payment arrives in time for me to pay my bill. There will be a $20 late charge for any late retreat payments.
