As requested,
Scrappy Happy Quilt Camp
Thursday October 25 to check out Sunday October 28
Do you have piles of scraps you have saved for who knows what? Do you have stacks of strips left over from other projects you have no idea what to do with? Then this quilt camp is just for you. You bring your scraps, fat quarters and yards of stuff and we will show you quilts you can make from them. We will show you a variety of patterns you can make using those scraps, strips and leftovers.
The retreat will officially begin at check in on Thursday any time after 2:30. (If you have not experienced the Amish Farm tour provided by the hotel before, be sure to sign up at the front desk when you sign in to reserve your time. I recommend early Saturday morning for your tour.) After you've checked in at the front office and unloaded your car, bring your sewing supplies to the conference room. Debbie will be teaching her introduction serger class for those who asked for it. You must bring your machine already threaded, and your instruction book. If you don’t have an instruction book, you have lots of time to find one.
Around 4:45 we will close the conference room for dinner. We will dine at the Texas Roadhouse but may not all be seated at the same table. (Everyone pays their own bill!)
We will reopen on or before 7:00 and give time for late comers to set up and then present a trunk show to give you a few ideas of what you can do with your scraps. We'll talk about the different patterns, and you can decide which one works best for your scraps. We'll finish about 9:00 so you can take a relaxing dip in the hot tub if you'd like, or just stay in the conference room and sort out your scraps.
Friday will be shopping day for those who need a few more things to complete their scraps, or those who just want to add to their stash. I recommend you start off the day with a good breakfast, and the conference room will open at 7:00 for coffee and donuts. If you want a bigger breakfast I suggest the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn Restaurant. (Call ahead for seating, extension 1550.)
We will meet back in the conference room to car pool to several great quilt shops, and I will hand out shopping directions and any coupons we have to aid you in your adventure. The conference room will be closed until 1:00 when it will reopen for those who have shopped out. When ever you are finished your shopping you can come back and get started with your scrappy project.
The conference room will close at 5:00 for dinner. Everyone is on their own for dinner this night. The conference room will reopen no later than 7:00 so we can continue working on those projects. The conference room will remain open until 11:00 (or later if you want to sew!)
The conference room will reopen at 7:00 on Saturday for those who wish to continue sewing. Remember that most stores are closed on Sunday so be sure to visit all the wonderful shops Saturday. I recommend you take the Amish Farm tour if you are new to this area. And don't miss the Farmer's Market next door. Take advantage of all there is around here, go out and explore.
Dinner time will be announced later. We will be dining at the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn Restaurant. We will be seated as a group, so it is important that everyone be on time. After dinner head back to the conference room. We will continue working on our projects and have some retreat fun while working.
Sunday AM get up bright and early for a delicious breakfast buffet at the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn Restaurant. Your breakfast ticket will be in your key envelope which you receive at check in. DO NOT lose it. Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 10:00. The conference room will open at 9:00 for you to collect your belongings, and will close at 10:30 for checkout. Check out is before 11, and you must check out at the front office.

I will not match roommates, so if you do not have a friend to accompany you, you must pay for a private room. If one roommate cancels, the remaining roommate shall be required to pay for a private room, or provide their own paying roommate. For this reason, you should choose your roommate carefully.
Payment in full must be received by August 1, 2007. Payment must be received on time or the reservation will be cancelled and all deposits forfeited.
Cancellations must be in writing. Email is fine, but if you do not get an acknowledgement within three days you should email again and/or snail mail.
