2007 and Forward
Please note as you view these photos, the sizes are not all proportional. You might see a quilt that looks as small as a wall hanging or vice versa. Some of the quilt photos are links to a larger photo of the same quilt. (You may need to use your browsers back button to return to this page)

Simply Squares is just that, made from all squares. #361 (above) was my prototype and I was so happy with it I made four more. (#363, #364 #365 and #378 which is my favorite.)

This is not my table or my kitty, but my friend Rita's. She purchased this table topper from me and her kitty decided she really
liked it.

This is another Simply Squares quilt and this one is my favorite!
It was made using all scraps. Yes they are all very close in color value, but there are at least two dozen different blues,
reds and yellows in this quilt and the white-on-whites were all scraps too! If you look at the enlargement, you can see the different colors.

In March 2008 I started the Mysteries For
Relay Yahoo Group as a Relay For Life fundraiser. I greatly appreciate all the ladies who joined the group and helped me reach my annual fundraising goals. We made some beautiful quilts and lasting friendships too. I will mark the Mystery quilts with a "M" by the number.
Note that I usually made baby quilts as my samples. Many times I would make another quilt along with the class, either a second (or 3rd) quilt in a larger size.
Tessellated Friendship Stars was mystery #1 |

I saw a photo of Jan Davis' Scrappy Bricks and knew I had to make one. She generously shared her directions and gave me permission to write my own directions for her pattern. This was mystery #6 on the Mysteries For Relay group and everyone loved it. This is a great scrap buster! |

When our friend Joan was undergoing her second battle with cancer her friends sent her hearts to let her know they were thinking
of her. She gave them all to me and I made her this queen size quilt.

I have a couple of friends who think they can send me anything and I can make something from it. These quilts,
#417 to #423 are results of their “gifts”. I called them orphan quilts and except for #422, the Friendship Stars, all were donated to charity.

#456 #457, #458 & #459   All of these quilts were made with scraps, left over pieces from other quilts. I made them into the quilts shown here. Someone else quilted them all and they were donated to different charities. |
At the 2012 Spring Retreat Janet showed one of the quilts she was working
on and I had to make one… I've actually made three, below are two of them.

I decided that Janet's Quilt would make a great mystery so it became one, for the online group and the retreaters too. Weeks after the mystery, I started getting "leftovers" in the mail. I just happened to have some of my own, so I made this lap quilt. |

I had never used flannel before and decided to give it a try, buying two whole bolts to use for charity.
I didn't “love” it but used it all up making these baby quilts.

I found an incomplete kit in my stuff that someone sent me, and I decided to finish it. All that was in it were a sheet of directions that didn't make sense and a piece of Christmas fabric. I added some more fabric to it, and made these three little wall hangings.

I made this quilt for my son Jon and his wife Steph for thier wedding.
2015
In January 2015 I started a new project, a Nine Inch Sampler Quilt. (#518) I'd completed 49 blocks when I sat that project aside to work on some other things else.
Something else was a request from my son Michael for his wife Kelly, a chevron quilt she'd seen in a magazine on line she really liked... and he wondered if I could duplicate it. Lucky for him it was an easy project and I could, especially since he wanted it in a hurry. (And then I made a doll quilt for Kelly's niece with the scraps.)

These are string table covers which are quilted onto plastic tablecloths to protect my plant tables from water spills. |
And in 2019 I made a bunch of strings purses to sell to raise money for Relay For Life. Thanks to everyone who bought one.
#529
In 2020 I started a Christmas Strings Table Topper for our kitchen table. I wanted it to slightly hang over the sides, but it had extensions for the length, so I wasn't sure how to handle it... so it's a UFO still. (Besides, with covid that year, we didn't do much for Christmas anyway.)

After covid struck, there were no more retreats, and the quilting part of me just kind of disappeared. It just wasn't the same quilting all by myself and I truly missed all of my quilting friends. I found I had nothing to prepare for, nothing to look forward to, and absolutely no desire to do any quilting at all.
A few years later we moved and packing and unpacking ALL of my quilting supplies made me realize how much I really had. I had always had double and triple of many quilting tools, for retreaters who flew in, or those who forgot things. Now I only needed one of everything. I had five jumbo cutting mats and four of the “normal” size ones, and I can't tell you how many rulers and rotary cutters I had. Surge protector power strips, only six of those, two for my bedroom and four for the conference room.
And fabric… I don't think I have to tell you how much of that I had. I found fabric I had bought years ago, even before there were retreats. The worse thing of all, unfinished projects, half finished quilts, started quilts, brand new designed projects printed out with fabric selected and stuffed in boxes ready to go, future mysteries.
We had a “Quilters Yard Sale”. Sold a LOT of fabric, tools, patterns, and some other household stuff. I even sold a number of wall hangings and small quilts. But there were still over 250 large quilts and many many small quilts and wall hangings to find homes for. I advertised on Facebook and that was successful. Many quilts and smaller quilts found new homes. But there are still about 100 quilts here taking up space that we don't have.
We have two beds, and both have quilts on them, #251 and #479. I have quite a few I will never sell or give away during my lifetime, they are special for many reasons. Others will find a home, some way, somehow, some day. As for my fabric and UFOs, don't give up on them or me yet.
